Does the king of heaven – the LORD of angel armies – have complete and total access to the resources that He has entrusted to you? True, He could demand it. True, He may have control of it already. But, He asks you to willingly give. He wants your will! God wants willful people to sacrifice their preferences so that He can do a visibly powerful work in and through them.

Beautiful Attitudes, Part 2
Are you open to God? Can He lead you wherever He would like? Swing wide the gate of your heart. Raise your mourning spirit. Extend your arms to embrace His everlasting hug. God wants to make you wholly His. He wants to comfort you and lead you by the hand. Follow God. Cry out to Him! Weep aloud to Him! His peace is yours if you will but receive it. Take the peace that God gives through His Son, Jesus.

Because of the closeness between the sheep and their Good Shepherd, we will hear His voice when He speaks. We can hear Him clearly through what we read in His word, other Jesus-followers we come into contact with, and the situations that arise in our day to day lives.

This is in essence what we praise when we echo David’s glad temple prayer. We want God to rule in all of our hearts alone. We are asking for Jesus to make His existence known through our bodies as He was known during His time among us on earth. We are asking for Jesus to make His existence known through our bodies as He will be known in eternity.
